HOW TO STUDY even when you can't | THIS TIP ISN'T FOR EVERYONE

HOW TO STUDY, even when you can't.

First of all I think we should address some of the few reasons why you haven't done any work. Please take in mind this is written for people who are in a good place mentally, if your mental health isn't good at the moment then it is a valid reason for you to put off work in my eyes. This may not be for you so I would suggest that you read the mental health piece I have written here about how to improve it.

1. You feel as if you shouldn't be doing work, you believe that because we're in a pandemic school should not be giving you all of this work to do right now and because of that, you refuse to do it, like a silent protest.

2. The reason you can't do work is that it isn't a priority for you. There are all of these other things you would rather be doing like being on social media, playing video games, exercising, going on walks etc. So you just keep putting your work to the side to do all of the things which you want to do. you simple do not want to sacrifice any of these things to do something you don't enjoy doing and since you don't have to, you won't.

Sorry to burst your bubble but we both know the truth is that the work probably isn't going anywhere and it is very much due.

SO, how to actually crack on and do your work?

Turn off unnecessary social media notifications or just turn off your phone. I understand many people have responsibilities so they are unable to turn their phones off but for you people that can, DO IT AND DO IT NOW! Your phone can be your biggest enemy of progress, everything on it is made to be as addictive as possible. Break the addiction and turn off your phone.

Lie about the deadline to activate deadline rush. My friend and I came up with this in Sixth form and called it the deadline rush because when you know your deadline is closing in and fast you will suddenly go from writing 200 words a day to doing 500 in an hour. I don't know how it works but it does,  so rather than actually leaving it to the actual last minute of the deadline, why not lie about the deadline and make it a couple days or a week earlier. that way when it gets closer to that deadline you will be able to activate the deadline rush and finish your work ahead of the deadline so you even have time to improve it rather than submitting something that you haven't looked over at least once.

Flip the switch. I believe that inside of us we all have this switch that can put us into beast mode. Like a switch that turns the light on and off. This switch can undoubtedly be activated in order for us to study and complete work or even other things. Many of us have accessed this powerful switch before to fade out all the distracting noise and thoughts our brains are processing to focus on a single thing and go at it at 100mph.

Please don't manipulate these brain hacks as they will tax your mental health is you are not balancing it all.
