STOP THIS!! STOP letting the length of the journey stop you from getting where you want to be. You Do not need to conqor the world in a day, take a breath. Slow down.  So many times when I think about what I want to do in life I think that's it's such a hard and long of a journey it will be.  MLK said “Faith is taking the first step, even when you don't see the whole staircase . ” so we need to have faith in order to know that we will eventually get to where we need to be ( the top of the staircase).  Once we have faith in ourselves, faith that we are more than capable of completing whatever we've set out to do.  I'm juggling a lot at the moment at university and its very easy for me to feel overwhelmed with big and little tasks from dissertations, going gym, basketball practice, cooking and the Blog, Youtube/ podcast however really and truly I am going to keep on feeling overwhelmed until I know I can do all I wish to & decide to

LOOK AFTER YOUR STAR PLAYER

YOU ARE YOU’RE STAR PLAYER  Say it with me out loud,  I AM MY STAR PLAYER If YOU are YOUR star player then you need to KNOW YOURSELF.  You have to look after yourself because it’s only you who goes through everything you go through.  As a star player you get special treatment and have to put YOURSELF FIRST. Within reason to do what is going to better YOU in the long run.  This doesn’t mean that you are alone and you should only think of yourself. Just that your putting yourself first because if you don’t put yourself first then who will Putting yourself first means keeping yourself happy. Stop doing things that are having a negative effect on you. I’m not saying don’t wash the dishes because you don’t like it, what I’m saying keep yourself happy. For example if I know that staying to do overtime at work is going to stress me out and drain me I will say no because I need to look after my star player.  We all live different lives and what may not be b

Mental health awareness  Mental health awareness week may have ended BUT don’t end your awareness of mental health. Nearly everyone, if not everyone is going through their own struggles. Even though indicators that someone is going through something are visible. Not everyone is going to show them.  There have been so many times people have been going through something and nobody knows. Our own friends and family. Personally, I think that this is partly because they don’t know how to tell someone or open up to someone or even just don’t feel comfortable doing so, thereby creating barriers that don’t need to exist. As friends, we need to start doing a better job of making ourselves emotionally available to each other. So that we can break the barriers preventing us from being there when friends need us because with these how do we know when someone is slipping mentally.  Let’s start letting people know that we are actually here for them for when they n

Know yourself

KNOW YOURSELF What’s good everyone? Want to know what I think is good? Knowing yourself is. I feel like in today's day and age people are beginning to realise the importance of emotional intelligence and I believe knowing yourself is connected to that when it comes to you as an individual.  It's of extreme importance to know yourself because even though there are people who are there for you, it's only you who goes through everything you go through. Every single, up, down, win, loss and challenge you encounter. If you don't know yourself you will find it hard to take care of and better yourself, therefore, I would advise everyone to study themselves. It is a necessity. Learning about myself has helped me overcome bad habits and mental struggles. I know that I love Oreos.
